Board

The charity is run by a voluntary board of five members: Yasmin Whittaker-Khan, youth worker and playwright; Samir Bhamra, theatre director and producer; Susan Spencer, teacher; and Simon Richardson, dance and theatre photographer, the Chairman of Kadam.

Samir Bhamra

Samir Bhamra is the Artistic Director of Phizzical, the Creative Director of the UK Asian Film Festival, and the 2021 Senior Producer at Belgrade Theatre. He is a board member of Kadam and Club Kali Network CIC. 

He is a recipient of the Olwen Wymark Award from the Writers Guild of Great Britain and his winning artistic and film work has been enjoyed globally. He is regarded as being one half of the Top 5 Asian Power Couples in the Arts in 2020.

Yasmin Whittaker-Khan

Yasmin is a full-time Youth Worker for City and Islington Sixth Form College (since 2002). She is also a writer, presenter, film producer & social activist. Her broadcast appearances include Front Row on BBC Radio 4. Among her play and film scripts produced are Reshaam (‘Silk’) and Bells. She has written and consulted on a variety of social and political topics and she is founder of Insaan Culture Club, which was conceived with a desire to combine a celebration of South Asian culture in London with a championing of progressive Human Rights Causes.
